Red Osier Dogwood
Cornus stolonifera
Small white flowers in flat-top clusters bloom from late spring to early summer. Whitish berries, red tinged autumn foliage and bright red bark provide striking fall and winter interest. Plant in the sun and cut back hard in late winter or early spring to encourage the brightest stem colors. Not only a great landscape feature and habitat plant, Red Osier Dogwood is also excellent for slope stabilization or planting in large rain gardens, bogs and wetlands.
